Żyrardów is one of the most interesting towns in the Western Mazovia. It is distinguished by the industrial atmosphere created by the richness of the 19th-century old post-industrial monuments surrounded by lush vegetation filling smooth quarters of what once was a factory development.

Our town is now experiencing a true renaissance. Its development is to a great extent based on a unique in the scale of Europe industrial heritage and linen traditions, which once made it famous all over the world. The process of revitalization of the historic downtown is now being in progress and catches not only the investors’ but also tourists’ attention, and especially enthusiasts of industrial tourism. The flagship of Żyrardów and the most precious monument is the factory settlement, attracting people by its grand scale and accuracy—the way it was designed and built. It is a unique example of an ideal industrial town from the 19th century and at the same time a pioneer garden city. Post-industrial areas, situated near the settlement are beginning to vibrate with new life. Monumental buildings of the former factory are being renovated and adapted to new functions. Renovation works restore their primal splendour. Linen traditions are continued by private companies functioning in post-industrial buildings and offering typical of Żyrardow, remarkably beautiful linen products.
